The Friends of Wolf Creek - Out-of-state developers seek to construct a city over half the size of Durango, Colorado, at the base of Wolf Creek Ski Area's Alberta Lift. The "Village at Wolf Creek" would destroy lush meadows, alpine creeks, unspoiled backcountry recreation opportunities, and one of the most critical wildlife corridors in the southern Rocky Mountains. Access this website to learn how you can stop this travesty!

The Southern Rockies Conservation Alliance - The Southern Rockies Conservation Alliance is "an alliance of many local, state and national organizations dedicated to protecting and restoring the wildlands, flora, and fauna of Colorado and southern Wyoming."  Its mission is "to save the last unprotected wildlands in the Southern Rockies, and to preserve and restore native biodiversity through advocacy, education, and legal action."

The Wilderness Society -works to protect America's wilderness and to develop a nation-wide network of wild lands through public education, scientific analysis and advocacy."  Its goal is "to ensure that future generations will enjoy the clean air and water, wildlife, beauty and opportunities for recreation and renewal that pristine forests, rivers, deserts and mountains provide."

The Rio Grande Decision Support System - The Rio Grande Decision Support System is "a water management system being developed by the Colorado Water Conservation Board and Colorado Division of Water Resources to assist in making informed decisions regarding historic and future use of the Rio Grande basin."

Friends of the Dunes - Friends of the Dunes, Inc. was founded in 1989 "to provide a forum for citizen involvement at Great Sand Dunes National Monument & Preserve," located in nearby Mosca, Colorado.

Valley View Hot Springs - Valley View Hot Springs is located on the slopes of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains at the north end of the San Luis Valley.  Its philosophy includes preserving and protecting the land while promoting naturist recreation opportunities.  Valley View is currently aiming to become a non-profit organization, the better to advocate for the Valley's natural splendor.

Backcountry Skiers Alliance - The Backcountry Skiers Alliances (BSA) represents the interests of human-powered winter backcountry users, including skiers, snowshoe-ers, and snowboarders.  The BSA has SLVEC's support in its current effort to create non-motorized winter recreation areas on Wolf Creek Pass.

Rio Grande Water Conservation District - Created in 1967 to represent the San Luis Valley in litigation concerning the Rio Grande Compact. "The Rio Grande Water Conservation District is the leading entity in improved total water management in the San Luis Valley with a goal of efficiency and good water conservation efforts. Our mission, therefore, is 'to enhance and protect the water rights of the citizens in the San Luis Valley who reside within the boundaries of the District.'"
